My first response will be to:
#10 only man can forgive.
This caught my interest because I’m perceiving this as if it means man as in solely a human being. Because man has been gifted freewill, that comes with the choice of repentance and forgiveness. But it has also come with the choice to commit sin. On to chapter 7 of book 3 in Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis addresses forgiveness, specifically as it applies to forgiving our enemies. He looks into the implications of the Lord's prayer, where we pray for God to forgive us as we forgive those who sin against us. As with chastity, this Christian virtue is unpopular, mainly because it is difficult: "Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until they have something to forgive." God says he will forgive us of our sins if we come to him in a true heart of repentance ansd gives us a prime example of how to act in forgiveness. For example:
Jeremiah 36:7
Perhaps even yet they will turn from their evil ways and ask the Lord’s forgiveness before it is too late."
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 13:38
“Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins.
Romans 5:15
But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ.
These verses along with many others, clearly demonstrate that God also forgives. He displayed the biggest forgiveness of all by sending His son to the earth to forgive man of his wretched sin. Man can forgive things that are mortal and fallible or of earthly matters. But God sees the heart and judges the true intentions of man. Man can only forgive because God has given us the ability and has set an example on how to forgive those who have wronged us.
